Leadership Days

This year, the BCSU Leadership Days brought together students from across the country for a time of training, growth, and encouragement. Together in Varna on October 25, the students walked through passages from Esther, focusing on Mordecai and his example as a leader — an encourager and motivator. We discussed what makes encouragement truly encouraging: seeing and pointing to God, His work, or His calling in the lives of the people we want to uplift. After that, we talked about our different activities as a movement in Varna and the events we want to organize. We placed special focus on renewing informal gatherings for building friendships.

In Veliko Tarnovo, the student leaders met on November 15 to begin their day with a Bible study on John 15 — the Vine and the branches. Then came evangelism in practice — the 5 steps of sharing the gospel — and finally we discussed the topic of “relationship with God” through Psalm 26.

In Sofia, the leaders from Plovdiv also joined us, and together there were both potential new leaders and “old” ones. We began with a short Bible study. After that, we explored the idea of the leader as a patient and what the “doctor’s prescription” is for us — namely, Christ. We set aside time to strengthen our group-leading skills using the inductive method of studying Scripture, while another part of the group worked on personal growth projects, which helped the student leaders deepen their understanding of ministry and responsibility.

Alongside the sessions, we had moments of prayer and sharing that reminded us how important it is to grow not only in skills but also in character. The gatherings were full of new ideas, laughter, and unity — a strong start to the new calendar year ahead.
